Just keeping everone up to date with how the 1st team are getting on.

After a shakey start to the season the ladies have steadied themselves are now in a rich scoring form. In the last couple of weeks they have drawn against League leaders Solihull 2v2 in which we had a perfectly good goal ruled offside with minutes to go, we deserved the win there.

We turned up late at Coleshill because the M6 was horrendous, unfortunately we lost 2v1, but their manager came up to me at the end to say that she was glad the whistle went when it did because if we had played much longer they would have cracked under the pressure we were putting on their defence.

Then to yesterdays game we were at home to a strong Hereford Pegasus, before the game we sat in the changing rooms for a chat and we all agreed that we have had a couple of results not go our way and that in this game it was time to show the other teams that we were stronger than the results showed, guess what, the players responded with a score line that has set a new Premier League record as they beat Hereford an incredible 9v2 with a hat trick from Jasmine Campbell, 2 goals each for Mel Harling & Melissa Pilkington & goals from Becky Hackney & Natalie Chapman.

As well as climbing their way up the League, they are in to the quarter finals of the League Cup and also are due to start their County Cup campaign on Nov 15th away to Rugeley.

The 2nd team have also started to put a run of results together as they were away to League leaders Chasetown who they beat 2v0, they have already played in the 1st round of the County Cup where they beat local rivals Madeley Ladies 2v0, unfortunately their League Cup match against ATN Rangers was called off a couple of weeks ago.

This weekend sees the 1st team take the long journey to Hereford as they take on the other Hereford team at their place whilst the 2nd team are at home to ATN Rangers 2pm kick-off.

If anyone would like to know more about the ladies teams please feel free to ask Rob at training on Tuesday nights or come along to training at Longton Rugby Club 7.45 until 9pm every Thursday night.
