Bradwell Belles U12 Match Reports Saturday 12th September 2009 9.30am ko Barnton Youth score 0-1 Bradwell started the match very sluggish until Barnton scored in the 10th minute. From then on Bradwell had lots of possession and countless corners especially in the 2nd half but we could not convert the possession into goal scoring opportunities, however in the final minute Lucinda Smith had a shot which went narrowly wide of the goal which would of given Bradwell a much deserved point. Player of the morning – Beth Askey for all her tireless running in midfield Saturday 26th September 2009 9.30am ko Crewe and Nantwich score 0-3 Bradwell found the 1st half very difficult against a strong Crewe and Nantwich side. Georgia Griffiths made a couple of excellent saves C/N scored 2 quick goals prior to half time. In the second half Bradwell changed their goal keeper from Geogia Griffiths to Lucy Ainsworth due to injury and Bradwell started quite brightly. Lucinda Smith tried her luck from long range which went narrowly wide and Bradwell managed to stop the C/N player from knocking the long ball into the penalty box which was a danger in the 1st half. Bradwell nearly pulled a goal back when they could not convert a scramble in the CN penalty box. CN scored their only chance and 3rd goal due to Bradwell pushing players forward in the attempt to pull a goal back. Saturday 27th September 2009 10.15am ko Crossfields score 0-0 Bradwell continued to play well at the start of the second game with excellent chances from Charlie Mansell, Lucinda Smith and Harriet Colley. However, Bradwell were nearly caught out in the 1st half when a Crossfields player put the ball wide with only Lucy Ainsworth to beat. The second half was a another one sided affair and the best player was the Crossfields goalkeeper until she was nearly caught out in the last minute when Lucinda beat her to the ball but could only see her shot trickle past the wrong side of the post. Player of the morning – Lucinda Smith – deserved a goal especially for all her effort and hard work Saturday 3rd October 2009 10.15 ko Warrington Town score 5-0 Bradwell started very brightly and nearly scored in the 1st minute when Lucinda Smith put her shot from a well worked corner in the side netting. However it was not long until Bradwell converted their possession into a well deserved lead when Lucinda Smith smashed a loose ball in the box into the back of the net. At half time Bradwell led 1-0 and again Bradwell started the second half attacking the Warrington goal. Bradwell scored their second goal when Charlie Mansell picked up the ball in the opponents half and hit a unstoppable shot into the top left hand corner. Within the next couple of minutes Charlie latched on to a through ball from Beth Askey and smashed the ball into the net. Lucinda Smith hit the 4th from ten yards and Beth Askey completed the scoring with an excellent 1st time drive from the edge of the box into the bottom left hand corner Player of the morning – Charlie Mansell- Charlies 1st goal was a goal to saviour Saturday 10th October 2009 ko 9.30am Lymm Rovers score 1-2 Bradwell started the match very sluggishly and were lucky only to be losing 2-0 at half time if it wasn’t for the heroics of Danni Bowers who played her 1st game as the goal keeper. Bradwell played a lot better at the start of the second half and both Harriet Colley and Charlie Mansell continued to push the Lymm players back by winning a string of corners. However Bradwell could not convert the possession in goals until Harriet Colley hit a loose ball into the net from close range to make it 2-1. Harriet Colley had another shot which went wide of the goal and Lucinda Smith was extremely unlucky with a effort right at the end of the match. Saturday 10th October 2009 ko 10.15am Macclesfield Town score 0-5 Bradwell started the game really well against a well organised Macclesfield team and nearly went 1-0 in front when Lucinda Smith had her 1st time shot saved via the Macclesfield goalkeeper. Danni Bowers made a sting of excellent saves to stop Macclefield scoring until in the 10th minute Danni had no chance with a unstoppable shot from the Macclesfield player. Macclesfield made it 2 from a cross come shot which was too high for the goalkeeper. However, Bradwell deserved something from the 1st half efforts. Bradwell made changes at half time but could not stop Macclesfield from scoring a further 3 goals in the second half. Player of the morning – Danni Bowers- Dannis goalkeeping in both games was excellent especially as it was her 1st game in goals Thanks Ant and Mel | |
