Bradwell Belles were formed in 1998 and have grown over the last ten years, Originaly there were six girls who wanted to play football and as I was running a boys team at the time I looked into forming the club. I was soon to find out that there were no local leagues for the team to play in once we got started. So along with representatives from schools, football development officers from Stoke and Newcastle councils and help from the Staffs FA the North Staffs Girls League was formed. The club has gone from six girls to over one hundered with teams from under 10's, under 12's, under 14's, under 16's and two womens teams. The junior teams currently play in the Cheshire Girls League, the first ladies teams play in the Midlands Regional Womens League (North) while the 2nd womens team play in the Staffs County Womens League. The junior teams train once a week on Tuesday nights at Wolstanton High School and the seniors train twice a week at Wolstanton High School on a Tuesday night and again at Knutton Recreation Centre on Thursday nights. The club has an 'open' policy which means we do not hold trials for players and they can turn up and train in a safe enclosed enviroment with an area above the pitch where the parents are encouraged to stay. All coaches are FA qualified and have completed the FA courses in 1st Aid and child protection. We have been awarded the FA Charter Standard for both our junior and adult section which means that we run in compliance with FA rules and guidelines. Over the last ten years the club has had success throughout the age groups, this was capped when Belles first team gained promotion from the Staffs County Womens League into the West Midlands Regional Division One North after going the whole of the season unbeaten and the season was complete when they then won the SCWL League Cup Final. The 2006-2007 was one of the most successful for the whole club with a staggering 9 trophis coming in to the club. We feel that the club is still growing and when anything is growing its also changing and we are always looking at ways in which to improve the club.
